Weeks 8 and 9 - 10/19/2015 and 10/26/2015

Just for the record, this was the agenda we were marching to in the week of 10/19/2015.

And here are the words for Vocabulary 6a, though we never got around to the quiz that week.

As for Shakespeare's sonnets, you can always look them up online.  They're in the public domain.

Now we're well on our way into week 9.  Here's the revised agenda for 10/26/2015.  We won't get to Hamlet till next week, but that should help us clean up what we need to do for our college application projects and for 1984.

The test for that book now spans two days, Thursday and Friday of this week, Reading journals are due Thursday.  We chose as a class to watch Brazil.  We may start that Thursday or Friday and peck away at it through midterm week next week.

Our midterm will be on Thursday, November 5th.  More on that anon.

Weeks 6 and 7 - 10/5/2015 and 10/13/2015

In week 6, we chose to read George Orwell's 1984 as a class. Yes, the full text is available online!  No excuses!

Here is the agenda for the week of 10/5/2015

And this is the chart with all the weekly class responsibilities for the semester.

Here is the list for Vocabulary 5a.

The reading schedule and prompts for 1984 are available here, as well as the pre-reading survey.

Most of you have found the Common Application (or some equivalent) on your own, but that has been linked in past blog postings.

Week 7: The agenda for the week of 10/13/2015 is here.

(Another vocabulary holiday!  Yea!)

The contemporary sonnets by Midge Goldberg are only available in the paper handout given to you in class.  If you want more, buy the book.
